Modern schools today face a key challenge: fresh and hygienic indoor air – even when the windows are closed. Energy-efficient renovations have improved energy efficiency in many buildings, but at the same time have made natural air exchange more difficult. The consequences are well known: rising CO₂ levels, fatigue, poor concentration and an increased risk of infection – not only in times of coronavirus.
The coronavirus pandemic has clearly demonstrated the importance of controlled indoor ventilation in educational institutions. Even though coronavirus has lost some of its urgency, the need for virus-free and energy-efficient fresh air supply in our educational institutions remains.

The traditional method of opening windows is commonplace in many places – but it is hardly sufficient:
The situation becomes critical when the CO₂ concentration in the room rises: even at 1,000 ppm, the level is considered hygienically unsafe – and this is quickly reached in classrooms. Values above 2,000 ppm are not uncommon. This not only affects health, but also significantly impairs pupils’ ability to learn.

Controlled mechanical ventilation provides a permanent solution to all of the above problems. A study by a Danish university has shown that pupils learn with up to 16% more concentration in mechanically ventilated classrooms than in traditionally ventilated rooms. Our decentralised ventilation solution – SupraBox DELUXE – reliably ensures:
